Hospital Bills & Insurance

Your hospital bill is made up of charges for room and board, as well as charges for procedures, and other services such as radiology, medications, laboratory tests, physical therapy, operating room, recovery room and intensive care.

Inpatients are charged a fee for their room beginning on day of admission.  No charge is made for day of discharge if you are able to leave your room before midnight.  The sole exception would be admission and discharge occurring on the same day.

If you request a private room, you are responsible for the cost difference of a private room over a semi-private room.  Most insurance will only cover the cost of a semi-private room.

Billing Information

While you are at Dr. John Warner Hospital, your primary focus should be your health.  Since the ultimate responsibility for payment of your hospital bill rests with you or your guardian, you may also be concerned about the financial aspects of your hospitalization.  The following information answers many questions you may have about finances and insurance.

Financial Assistance

Dr. John Warner Hospital’s Financial Assistance Program offers assistance to all who show financial need.  The hospital’s staff will counsel people in exploring all other third-party payment programs such as Medicare, Public Aid, SSI, etc. to ensure all other sources of reimbursement have been exhausted prior to the approval of financial assistance.

Eligibility:  Any patient or responsible party in need of financial assistance may apply.  Eligibility will be based on the income guidelines and your personal assets without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin or handicap.

If you wish to apply for the Financial Assistance Program, please call or visit with a patient accounts representative (935-9571 extension 3211) to discuss your financial needs.  Staff will assist you in completing the application forms.
