Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory is open 7 days a week from 6:30am to 7:00pm. Offered in the respiratory department Pulmonary Function Studies (PFT) which is the testing of the lungs by varied studies such as Lung Volumes, Lung Diffusion, Minute Volume Ventilation, Spirometry, and Methacholine Challenges. Respiratory also does breathing treatments such as nebulizers, ezpaps, and acapellas. Also we do oximeter and bode walks to check oxygen levels with exercise. And if more serious services are needed we offer ventilator and bipap services.
The Respiratory Department also covers cardiology services. We can do a number of different stress test from exercise to drug study with which the patient just lays on a bed or walks on the treadmill at a very slow pace. Along with stress test we offer holter monitors which is a device that you wear for 24 to 48 hours to monitor the electrical activity of the heart. If this period of time is not long enough we offer the King of Hearts which is a small device that is wore for 3 weeks. EKG’s are another service offered.
